PROCESS OF REGISTRATION AS IAPA INSPECTION BODY

  • Any company that carries out periodic inspections and modification inspections of ropes courses is entitled to register with IAPA as an INSPECTION BODY.
  • With the INSPECTION concept, IAPA has developed a list of criteria for inspection bodies, the complete fulfillment of which must be given in order to be registered with IAPA as an INSPECTION BODY.
  • Only with the registration as IAPA INSPECTION BODY, the inspector has the right to award the IAPA INSPECTION certificate plus sign and tag and the IAPA quality seal INSPECTION PRO.
  • It is not necessary to have acquired the required qualifications at IAPA. Equivalent initial and further training of different providers will be recognised.

Admission requirements and qualifications

 

To register as an IAPA inspection body, the following requirements must be met:

IAPA registered INSPECTION BODY

  • IAPA registration of the inspection body
  • IAPA registration of the inspectors working for the inspection body.
  • Professional liability insurance of at least 5 million EURO for personal injury and property damage as well as at least 100,000 EURO for a recurring inspection or at least 250,000 EURO for a first or change inspection for financial losses.
    IAPA membership of the legal entity as a registered inspection body
  • Quality assurance agreement "IAPA registered INSPECTION BODY
  • Designation of a principal responsible inspector who participates in a one to two day audit of IAPA's INSPECTION Division.
  • Predefined quality assurance agreement "IAPA registered INSPECTOR" between the IAPA registered INSPECTION DEPARTMENT and the registered IAPA inspectors performing inspections for it.

 

Necessary personal qualifications of the PRINCIPAL INSPECTOR working for the inspection body

  • First aid certificate (currently valid)
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Construction, operational or industry-specific inspection experience of at least 600 hours
  • The principal inspector in charge has carried out a total of 8 inspections on at least 2 different supporting structures and at least 2 different individual safety systems
  • PPE expertise
  • Expertise in the inspection of load handling attachments (LAM)
  • Rope technical training, e.g. PPE user, SZT, SKT
  • Wire rope expertise (min. 2 days)
  • Participation in a one to two day audit at the IAPA department INSPECTION

 

Necessary personal qualifications of IAPA registered INSPECTORS working for the inspection body.

Procedure of the registration process

 

1. You meet the listed requirements for registration as an inspection body?
Then send the following documents by e-mail to office@iapa.cc:

  • Application "Registration as IAPA Inspection Body" incl. all examination documents
    (the checklist serves as proof of your qualification to award the IAPA INSPECTION certificate and the IAPA quality seal INSPECTION PRO)
  • Application "Registration as IAPA Inspector" incl. all examination documents
  • Quality assurance agreement "IAPA registered INSPECTION BODY".
  • Quality Assurance Agreement "IAPA Registered INSPECTOR"
  • The Quality Assurance Agreement will be sent to you every 2 years for signature.

2. Your documents are checked by IAPA. If you meet all the necessary requirements and qualifications, you will take part in a one to two-day audit at IAPA. You can find the audit dates here.

3. You will then receive a certificate and a web logo from us that identifies you as a registered IAPA inspection body.
