IAPA quality award
It can be used in advertisement to show potential guests that this park values their safety.
The seal is awarded in form of a signet to be posted in the park, a graphic for the web site and a certificate. Both signet and certificate show the member number, the date when it was awarded and the validity period. If wished, the awarding can be done publicly through a IAPA representative.
To be awarded the quality award, parks need to adhere to certain safety standards:
Quality in adventure GOLD
- The park is a full member of IAPA.
- The park was built according to EN 15567 – 1 and is operated according to EN 15567- 2.
- The park follows IAPA-standards and employs a certified safety manager who is solely responsible for the park's risk management.
- The park's personnel (supervisors and rescuers) are trained yearly by the safety manager.
- The park employs technical solution against fall hazards (communicating systems like Smartbelay or SSB or continuous safety systems like Speedrunner and Exponent).
- A supervising safety manager is always present in the park.
Quality in adventure SILVER
- The park is a full member of IAPA.
- The park was built according to EN 15567 – 1 and is operated according to EN 15567- 2. Special attention is paid to the guests. Children under the age of 13 only climb under direct supervision of a park employee, who can physically help when needed.
- The park follows IAPA-standards and employs a certified safety manager who is solely responsible for the park's risk management.
- The park's personnel (supervisors and rescuers) are trained yearly by the safety manager.
- In the park, two carabiners, similar to Via Ferrata, are used, the increased risk of fall hazards is compensated by increased supervision and less harnesses per stations.
- A supervising safety manager is always present in the park.
Quality in adventure BRONZE
- The park is a full member of IAPA.
- The park was built according to EN 15567 – 1 and is operated according to EN 15567- 2. Children under the age of 13 only climb under direct supervision of a park employee, who can physically help when needed.
- An external safety manager advises the park and is responsible for its risk management.
- The park's personnel (supervisors and rescuers) are trained yearly externally.
- In the park, two carabiners, similar to Via Ferrata, are used, the increased risk of fall hazards is compensated by increased supervision and less harnesses per stations.
- A supervising manager is always present in the park.
Furthermore, each park is awarded one to five stars, similar to hotels. Criterias are the respect towards nature and environment, accessibility and parking possibilites, infrastructure for guests and employees and size and attractivity of the park itself.
